Thanks for visiting my little home on the web! Here's a little bit about me: I live on beautiful Cape Cod with my wonderful husband Lewis and two beautiful children, Kai and Libby. I am the owner of Dennis Port Yoga, a beautiful yoga studio, located in the heart of Dennis Port Village. I love all things yoga and meditation and teach Vinyasa Flow and Restorative classes at Dennis Port Yoga. I am also certified to teach Prenatal Yoga, and always love having mamas-to-be in my classes. I grew up in the beautiful state of Maine and achieved my undergraduate degree from Bowdoin College. I spent much of my life as a competitive swimmer and athlete, and began practicing yoga after I graduated from college in 2000, as a way to relieve stress from my first job as a special education teacher. After I took my first yoga class at a gym, I was amazed at just how challenging the practice was. I started taking different styles of yoga and when I took my first Vinyasa class, I was hooked! By flowing from one pose to the next, and being mindful of breath, I not only became aware of every part of my body, I also began to feel a sense of presence, freedom, and space, something I had never fully felt before. After 7 years of practicing, I decided to take the Level 1 teacher certification from YogaFit as a way to learn more about the practice, not ever expecting to become a yoga teacher. However, after I taught my first class, I was inspired, and in 2009, I completed my 200 hour teacher training at Prana Power Yoga in Cambridge, MA. I became a full-time yoga teacher in 2010 and I have completed over 300 additional hours of trainings, Workshops, Retreats and Continuing Education with amazing teachers, including: Elena Brower, Seane Corn, Baron Baptiste, David Regelin, Ame Wren, Jacqui Bonwell, Jene Rossi, Bec Conant, Josh Summers, and my first teacher, Tom Slattery. I love teaching and creating what I hope to be powerful, grounding, creative, fun, and challenging classes that bring students to a greater sense of connection with themselves. I feel so so grateful to be able to share what I love with others and I am thrilled and so excited to bring these healing modalities to the Cape Cod community.
